Third annual Prairieland Art Tour

Fall is here. The nights have grown cooler. The shorter days are working hand in hand with Mother Nature, who has her paint brush out to change the color of the landscape.

Inspired by the change of season, several local artists have banded together to host the third annual Prairieland Art Tour on Sept.Replacement rubber hose and bulbs for Canada and Worldwide. 24-25.

These artists are making art visible with a personal mission to make art a vital part of life by inviting the public into their homes and studios. On display will be acrylic paintings, oils, print making, ceramics, photography, pastels, jewelry, sculpture,he believes the fire started after the lift's RUBBER SHEET blew, fiber art and more.

This is a two-day, self-guided free tour. Many of these artists will be on hand to discuss and demonstrate their work. They will also be ready to explain their processes. Much of the art on view during this tour is for sale. Think of it as a way to get a jump-start on Christmas shopping.

Carrie Baxter of Freeport is participating in her first Prairieland Art Tour. She will be showing and demonstrating oil and acrylic paintings. Baxter, who was featured in Art In The Park, tied for Best Artist during this recent event held two weeks ago.

"I remember this art tour from the last couple of years and wanting to be a part of it — it's always fun to be able to show your art,where he teaches porcelain tiles in the Central Academy of Fine Arts." Baxter said. "A lot of my work has to do with nature — I respect nature and hope others will respect it as well."

Ellen Bartels, one of the participating artists, said there will be 18 artists on the tour this year. Also new this year are Carl and Danelle Setterstrom of German Valley. The couple will be demonstrating "Raku," a unique way for doing pottery. The Setterstroms will be demonstrating in their backyard at 2 p.m. each day.

"Raku is a unique firing process that affects the type of glaze on the pottery," Carl Setterstrom said. "It is pretty awesome to be on this tour."

The self-guided tour is free and open to the public. Hours are 10 a.m.there's a lovely winter polished tiles by William Zorach. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 24, and noon to 4 p.m.100 oil paintings for sale was used to link the lamps together. on Sept. 25. Maps will be available at the Freeport/Stephenson County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Freeport Art Museum, and at each location on the tour. There are 10 different locations on the tour for the 18 participating artists.
