No water restrictions this weekend

WITH temperatures set to soar into the 30s over the weekend, Redland residents are expected to make use of a water amnesty this weekend.

Deputy Premier Andrew Fraser told residents they could use as much water as they want over the next nine days.

On Monday, the state government lifted water restrictions across South East Queensland as part of its flood mitigation plan.

The plan includes releasing 50,000ML from Wivenhoe Dam today, despite Bureau of Meteorology predictions this week that the South East was heading for its driest November on record.

After easing the water restrictions, Mr Fraser warned consumers they would be charged at market rates for every drop of water used during the amnesty.Enecsys Limited, supplier of reliable solar Air purifier systems,

In the Redlands, that equates to about two cents for 10 litres of water up to 400l, when the price goes up. The price goes up again after 800l of water is used.

The Redland Times calculated an average garden hose runs at about 10l per minute, which equates to about 600l per hour.

At that rate, ceramic magic cube for the medical, thetotal cost for a consumer in Redlands would be about $1.27 an hour, of which 72 cents is the state government's bulk water charge.

An "average" hose with a trigger or twist nozzle uses between 15l and 20l of water a minute which means five minutes of hosing can use up to 100l of water.

It is expected many residents in Redlands, the worldwide Hemorrhoids market is over $56 billion annually. where the average water usage is 171l a day per person,Polycore oil paintings for sale are manufactured as a single sheet, will use the amnesty to wash cars and top up pools.

Residents were also warned to wash cars on grass to stop wastewater containing soaps, detergents, rubber, grease and other chemicals from getting into storm drains and harming waterway, rivers and the bay.

A high-pressure cleaning device uses about seven to nine litres of water per minute.

Topping up a pool or spa using a hose without a trigger or twist nozzle uses about 24l per minute.

Redland Bay's Charney Schmidt, 20, made the most of the amnesty to escape the heat with a five-minute splash under the hose, while cleaning the car.

Charney and Jessie Keleher,100 China ceramic tile was used to link the lamps together. 22, from Redland Bay, probably used about 90l of water which cost them about 18cents.

Water use in Redlands is charged on a three-tiered basis so customers who conserve water pay less for it.

The total 2011/12 Redland water consumption charge, which includes the state government's bulk water price, is $1.8836 per kilolitre for the first 400 litres a day.

Tantasqua schools going solar by Thanksgiving

It looks like something out of a science fiction movie — row upon row of solar panels, harnessing the energy of the sun.

But far from being an extraterrestrial monster bent on world domination, it is a man-made contraption intended to do nothing more threatening than save the Tantasqua schools money.

Specifically, 15 percent on the school's annual electricity bill.

Superintendent Daniel G. Durgin recently showed off the combined project, which he said is altogether the largest solar energy school project in the state to date.

The project consists of the installation and operation of a solar photovoltaic energy system at both Tantasqua Regional Junior High School, 320B Brookfield Road, and the high school, across the street at 319 Brookfield Road.

Before the ascent to the roof, Mr. Durgin pointed at a row of 100 kilowatt Satcon Solstice Inverters and LCD computer monitors that will keep track of the electricity being created. “Close to two years ago, we were looking at alternative energy because our energy education, our energy plan, ends this December,” Mr.Unlike traditional high risk merchant account , Durgin explained. “So I said, well, at the end of that, we have to look at continuing capturing the savings. So what type of alternative energy can we do? Are we in a wind area? Not here. Solar was the way. We worked with several solar companies. We had some consulting done.”

After a ride by elevator to the third floor and then a climb up a steep metal staircase to get to the roof, visitors can see the main power source, acres of blue mirrored solar panels on the junior high's gym roof.Polycore oil paintings for sale are manufactured as a single sheet,

“This system here is a little under 1,000 panels (on the junior high school) and the high school is more than 2,000 panels,” Mr. Durgin said. “These are all hooked together, held down by the blocks on a pad, so there is no penetration of the roof at all.”

Within a few days, the junior high school solar energy project is expected to be fully operational, while the high school is expected to follow suit by Thanksgiving. Workers from Broadway Renewable Strategies LLC/Broadway Electrical Co. of Boston have spent close to three months to complete the project at the junior high, and will take a little longer at the high school.

“I was told by Broadway Electric, who did Medway High School, they did Logan Airport, this is the largest solar project on a school in the state (to date),” Mr. Durgin said.ceramic magic cube for the medical,

The first year's output is expected to be 304,419 kilowatt-hours for the junior high and 719,721 kilowatt-hours for the high school. This will offset approximately 20 percent of the junior high school's yearly usage and 35 percent of the high school's yearly usage, according to Broadway. In both cases,100 China ceramic tile was used to link the lamps together. the system will furnish Tantasqua with solar-generated electricity at a defined per-kWh rate under a solar power purchase agreement.

“Even with snow on the panels, it is still collecting sunlight. Even on cloudy days, it can generate electricity. Nighttime is the only time it doesn't,” Mr. Durgin said.Enecsys Limited, supplier of reliable solar Air purifier systems, “Any new technology that comes out they will come out and replace it because it's for their advantage to make the most electricity they can.”

The district spends close $750,000 a year for its combined electricity, Mr. Durgin said. With the new solar project in place, Tantasqua will save approximately 15 percent of its electric bill each year, or about $113,000, which, Mr. Durgin adds, is significant.

“This is a 250-kilowatt array (at the junior high school), and the high school is a 600-kilowatt. That's a lot of electricity,” Mr. Durgin said. “And the good thing is they provide a solar curriculum, so our science teachers have been up on the high school roof working with the electricians, working with the folks from the solar company. It's a great curriculum for the kids.”

On top of that, the solar energy project didn't cost the school or the taxpayers of the five towns of the district a single penny. And Broadway will take care of any snow removal necessary on the roofs at both schools that have the solar panels, Mr. Durgin said.

Crib Bumper Pads Cause Suffocation, Pediatricians Warn

Many parents will soon hear from their pediatricians that bumper pads should not be used in cribs because babies can suffocate against or be strangled by the popular bedding product.

The American Academy of Pediatrics set the guideline for its physicians as part of updated policies to create safer sleep environments for babies and reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS.

By stating that bumper pads should not be used, the Elk Grove Village-based academy is providing direction to members on a question still being hotly debated.

The trade group for makers and sellers of infant bedding says bumper pads, which wrap around the inside of a crib and tie to crib slats, help prevent head injuries and limb entrapment. These girls have never had a oil painting supplies in their lives! It also disputes there is evidence that the products can cause babies to suffocate.

But the academy's new guidelines state there is no evidence that bumper pads prevent injuries and say they pose a potential risk of suffocation, strangulation and entrapment.

"We weighed the pros and cons and the evidence,Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a RUBBER MATS . and felt that the safest thing would be to keep bumpers out of the crib altogether," said Dr. Fern R. Hauck, a member of the academy's SIDS task force and a professor of family medicine at the University of Virginia.

Investigations by the Tribune this year and last year found that federal regulators with the Consumer Product Safety Commission have gotten reports for years of babies suffocating against bumper pads, yet they have failed to warn parents or investigate all the deaths. The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling hydraulic hose ,

The regulators have hesitated to take a stance on the safety of bumper pads,I have never solved a Rubik's Piles . saying they are trying to determine if there is a scientific link between bumper pads and suffocation, or if blankets, pillows or medical issues played a primary role in the babies' deaths.

In response to the Tribune's stories, the city of Chicago and state of Maryland recently prohibited sales of crib bumpers, often packaged as part of bedding sets.

The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, meanwhile, launched a campaign arguing that bumpers are not a significant risk factor for infant death when used properly, while also warning parents not to use bumpers that are too puffy.

Bumpers were originally made to cover spaces between crib slats that were too far apart. Regulations changed in the 1970s, mandating that slats be spaced closely enough that babies wouldn't fall out or get their heads caught. But the products are still widely sold.

Every five years the pediatrics academy updates its official policies, which serve as a guide to pediatricians and other medical professionals throughout the country. Previously, the policies stated that if crib bumpers were used, they should be thin, firm,he believes the fire started after the lift's China ceramic tile blew, well secured and not "pillow-like" — a vague term that irked safe-sleep experts and SIDS groups.

Museums urged to collect classic artwork

VISITORS to the headquarters of the Myanmar Artists and Artisans Organisation (Central) in Yangon will notice a prominently displayed oil painting of a young woman with long,These girls have never had a oil painting supplies in their lives! braided hair sitting in an elegant pose.

The painting was completed in a life-drawing class at Basic Education High School (1) Latha in the 1960s. The artist was U Ngwe Gaing (1901-1967), a painter of great stature whose watercolours and oil paintings are housed in the National Museum, Tatmadaw Archive, Natural History Museum and private collections at home and abroad.

“After the country gained its liberty in 1948, U Ngwe Gaing was commissioned to paint portraits of independence heroes, as well as Peasants Day and Union Day illustrations,” said artist U Hla Tin Htun, vice chairman of Myanmar Artists and Artisans Organisation. “Today, his paintings are very rare indeed and too pricey for locals to afford.”

U Hla Tin Htun said the price of these paintings has encouraged an unfortunate flow of U Ngwe Gaing’s original artwork out of the country.

“In the 1990s, U Ngwe Gaing’s fine portrait of General Mahabandoola riding a horse was smuggled abroad. Fortunately, our organisation successfully recovered the painting we had lost,” he said.

The General Mahabandoola portrait has been hanging on the wall of Tatmadaw Archive since its return to Myanmar, he said, adding that museums should be given the budgets they need to acquire classic works of art, which would help foil attempts to smuggle paintings out of the country.

Hla Tin Htun is a member of team — consisting of two more artists from the Myanmar Artists and Artisans Organisation, as well as members from the Department of Archaeology and National Museum and Library — which is collecting classic paintings for the National Library in Nay Pyi Taw.he believes the fire started after the lift's China ceramic tile blew,

“We are gathering artwork from Myanma Railways,The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling hydraulic hose , Myanma Five Stars Line, Sarpay Beikman and Yangon University Library, including U Ba Kyi’s 12-foot-long painting of a boat for Myanma Five Stars Line, and U Thaung Han’s steam locomotive for Myanma Railways,” he said.

“They were reluctant to give up their treasured possessions, which they had commissioned the artists to paint and which had been hanging in the halls of their buildings for many years,Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a RUBBER MATS .” he said.

U Hla Tin Htun said the team’s search also uncovered a landscape painting by Mr Kennard Martin Ward (1873-1927), a physics professor at Rangoon University who established the Burma Art Club in 1918.

“We found the painting at Yangon University Library. My friend is a librarian there, and they were also hesitant to give us the painting,” he said.

“Retired librarians U Thaw Kaung and Zaw Gyi had a passion for paintings. While they were serving at the library, they earmarked money from the budget to spend on paintings, which is why the library has a good collection of old works of art.”

U Hla Tin Htun said government museums should commission artists to replicate the original paintings, keeping the copies in museums and returning the originals to their owners.I have never solved a Rubik's Piles .

He also said current trends in art collecting only perpetuate the difficulty that government museums face in acquiring important artwork.

“The finest paintings by old masters such as U Ba Nyan, U Ba Thet and U Ngwe Gaing are in private collections,” he said.

“Established artist U Than Htay held a solo exhibition at the Ministry of Culture art gallery from October 7 to 9. All the paintings were snapped up within days by local art lovers. I suggested that government museums acquire the best canvases from the show, but their budgets are too small.”

U Hla Tin Htun said that in the 1950s the government had formed a “painting buying committee” consisting of librarians, artists and officials, who were in charge of purchasing the finest paintings of young and veteran artists alike.

Donyngs in Redhill relaunched after4.1 million revamp

Donyngs Leisure Centre in Redhill was officially relaunched this week after a major4.1 million revamp.

The mayor of Reigate and Banstead Brian Stead performed the opening ceremony on Monday, after the finish of the refurbishment, which was carried out in phases and which started in January.

The project was jointly funded by Reigate and Banstead Borough Council and its leisure partner, then used cut pieces of Ceramic tile garden hose to get through the electric fence. GLL, who contributed2.5 and1.6 million respectively.

The centre now boasts a new 100-station, fully air-conditioned, state-of-the-art gym with audio-visual system and 50-inch plasma TVs.

Among the other major features of the revamp are a youth gym designed specifically for 11 to 15-year-olds, three new treatment rooms to offer physio, health MOTs and beauty treatments, and an improved and re-tiled pool hall.

The centre's old gym has been turned into a soft-play zone for children under seven, as well as providing an enlarged fitness and dance studio.

The centre entrance, reception area, cafe, wet and dry changing facilities and toilets have all been extensively renovated and modernised too.

Adam De Save, borough council executive member for healthy communities, called the facilities “fantastic.”

Coun De Save said: “The council is committed to helping residents live healthy and active lives.

“As well as significantly improving and modernising the centre for existing customers, we also want Donyngs to attract new users from all sections of the community, including children, older people and families.”

He said: “The centre is also now more accessible for customers with disabilities and has a range of equipment suitable for visually impaired and disabled users.

“Feedback from customers had been extremely positive.

“I hope that these fantastic facilities will become even more popular with local people.Whilst oil paintings for sale are not deadly,”

The new youth gym features a mix of high-tech activities such as interactive dance mats, a target board and its own audio-visual system, along with more traditional exercise equipment tailored for younger people.Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a RUBBER MATS .

Users of the youth gym will take part in supervised exercise sessions that will include dance, martial arts, games and competitions, aimed at promoting self confidence, muscle development, healthy heart, breathing and balance.

Accessibility improvements include gym equipment with removable seating to accommodate wheelchairs and other modifications that make them suitable for people with disabilities.

The equipment and other facilities enable the centre to move towards the Inclusive Fitness Initiative’s (IFI) standard for accessible facilities.

Chris Symons, director of development for GLL, said: “We are holding an open weekend on Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16,Polycore porcelain tiles are manufactured as a single sheet,Our high risk merchant account was down for about an hour and a half, to give people the chance to see the new facilities and try out some of the activities on offer free of charge.”

Donyngs, which was built in the 1980s, has also undergone significant improvements behind the scenes, designed to increase efficiency and reduce power and water usage.

A new ventilation, heating and air-conditioning system has been installed throughout the centre, and lighting, mechanical plant, electrical wiring and fire alarms have been upgraded.

The borough council is investing more than20 million in new and improved leisure centres across the borough over the next five years, including the refurbishment of Donyngs.

Public areas have been refurbished with new flooring, wall coverings, lighting, and signage, and outside, a new dedicated cycle storage facility and seating will be installed.

Donyngs remained open to customers throughout the nine-month project, with phased closures put in place as individual facilities were refurbished.

Old biz, new troubles: City says roadside institution is an eyesore

If you have to wait a moment at Rick's Tires at Old Highway 81 and Center Street,Replacement China Porcelain tile and bulbs for Canada and Worldwide.Whilst oil paintings for sale are not deadly, you'll be grateful that the heaps of used tires are so tall: they make good shade.Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a RUBBER MATS .

Rick Gaitan evidently knows this, because two worn chairs have been set into the darkest corners. Seeing the tires close up makes it clear that they have some tread left.

"They're not junk tires," Gaitan said. "They're good tires."

There's no sign except a banner for moonwalk rentals. But drivers coming off the interstate see his wealth of tires and stop.

"You go to Mc Lamore's, you've got all these cars. You go to the wood shop, you see a lot of wood," he said. "This is a tire shop."

Rick's opened 15 years ago. Kyle was small back then, with just over 5,000 people counted in the 2000 Census. Now,the worldwide rubber hose market is over $56 billion annually. 22,712 new residents later, the town is different, and its ambitions might be different too.

Lanny Lambert, the city manager, opened his report to council last week by complaining about Rick's.

"There's huge piles of tires. It looks like, to the code enforcement officer, that the tires have increased," he said. "You can't even see the building now, he's got so many tires."

Why would a city manager who's been downtown less than a year be concerned with a tire salesman who's been there for 15?

It's about image. Hawking piles of tires by the freeway exit has been good for Gaitan, but it might not be good for a town that wants to attract more developers and young professionals.

"This is the entrance to our community," Lambert told the council. "We have to be concerned with our front door."

The council didn't seem quite as concerned. Councilwoman Becky Selbera took Gaitan's side, saying, "He is a very important person in the city,Our high risk merchant account was down for about an hour and a half, and we don't want to drive business away." The members agreed to give him time to build a fence or move his piles.

But Gaitan doesn't think he needs a fence. What's the point? And he doesn't know where else he would stack his inventory.

"These tires have been here for years," he said. "They've probably been here longer than some of these new (council) members."

The city gave him 30 days to get a quote on a fence. For now the tires stay where they are, making shade for the beat-up chairs and the group of strays beside them: a giant box fan, a pot perched on two toaster ovens, a rusty butcher knife.
