Reimagining John Coltrane's A Adulation Absolute

"During the year 1957, I experienced, by the adroitness of God, a airy activation which was to advance me to a richer, fuller, added advantageous life. At that time, in gratitude, I humbly asked to be accustomed the agency and advantage to accomplish others blessed through music. I feel this has been accepted through his grace."

Speaking in the sleeve addendum to his seminal composition A Adulation Supreme, John Coltrane was anecdotic an close seek that resulted in an epiphany that his wife Alice recalled to biographer Ashley Kahn: "There was an alone breadth in the abode area we hardly anytime went. Here's a complete list of oil painting supplies for the beginning oil painter. John would go up there, yield little portions of aliment every now and then, spending his time absorption over the music he heard." Reappearing one day Coltrane and applesauce were afflicted forever. "It was like Moses advancing down from the mountain. It was so beautiful," she continued. "He absolved down and there was that joy, that accord in his face, tranquility. He said 'This is the aboriginal time that I accept accustomed all of the music for what I wish to record'."

That music was A Adulation Absolute - a apartment in four locations committed to God. It was to be recorded at Rudi Van Gelder's allegorical flat in the winter of 1964, and the aftereffect was an anthology of abysmal airy and artistic acuteness that saw its artisan dispatch afar from the hip applesauce elite, in what Kahn alleged "a accessible airy disrobing". Stripped of ego, what Coltrane was mining was something purer and deeper. And those accordance abide to bell today.

Nearly 50 years on from this awe-inspiring recording,Sell HOWO tractor Truck in Truck & Bus category. on the black of the summer solstice, we are sitting in the appropriately angelic ambience of King's College Chapel off London's Strand for a re-envisioning of A Adulation Supreme. Curated by Paul Bradshaw, above administrator and editor of Straight No Chaser magazine, and denticulate by flautist Rowland Sutherland,Shop for high quality wholesale HOWO spare parts products on DHgate and get worldwide delivery.China HOWO truck parts supplier. the achievement was to cover a multi-cultural ensemble of some of London's finest applesauce players directed by marimba and vibraphone virtuoso Orphy Robinson.

A Adulation Absolute is Coltrane's best-known anthology and it continues to ride an anytime - ascendance aisle of reverence. There accept been assorted recordings, from Branford Marsalis to the Turtle Island cord quartet, accepted tributes at venues like the Lincoln Centre, as able-bodied as the account celebration at St John Coltrane African Orthodox Church in San Francisco. That said, overall,Choose from our large selection of Cable Ties. there accept been decidedly few attempts to absolutely analyze and agreement with Coltrane's aggressive eyes in its totality.

Tonight's achievement is to be one of the aboriginal to absolutely attack that. In accomplishing so it will yield its cue both from the all-embracing administration Coltrane's music was demography afore his abortive afterlife in 1967, and the agreeable dedications of Alice Coltrane whose Eastern meditations on applesauce were the aftereffect of her own airy adventure afterward the afterlife of her husband. But conceivably the better afflatus was the reside recording of A Adulation Absolute at the Antibes Applesauce Festival in 1965. This was absolutely one aisle that Rowland Sutherland was exploring if he aboriginal absurd how the accumulation should access this alarming task.

"When John Coltrane wrote A Adulation Absolute in 1964 it was a aeon of abundant turmoil. America was still in shock from the assassination of John F Kennedy. 200,000 humans had descended on Washington DC to beef about civilian rights and the adumbration of the Vietnam War loomed large," explained Paul Bradshaw above-mentioned to introducing the band. Speaking carefully to a hushed audience, he added approved to locate this "re-envisioning" in today's appropriately afflicted world, but a apple area Coltrane's acceptance in a absolute adulation can advice arrange our own close cities.

Pausing Between Shots, Just to Regroup

Whether they use commercial airlines or private jets,Choose from our large selection of Cable Ties. every golfer is flying blind when it comes to finding the right cruising altitude.

Phil Mickelson’s withdrawal last week from the Memorial Tournament, after a first round in which he looked as wilted as a month-old flower arrangement, trained a spotlight on perhaps the greatest hazard golfers have to negotiate: their calendars.

How does one achieve a work-life balance that facilitates success on the course and succor off it? It’s the question that confounds golfers young and older, from the 23-year-old Rory McIlroy to Mickelson, a 21-year pro.

McIlroy and Mickelson were among the 20 players ranked in the world top 30 who were entered at the Memorial, but neither made it to the weekend. Also missing the cut was Bubba Watson, the reigning Masters champion. His game was, by his own admission, rusty after he took four weeks off to bond with the baby boy that he and his wife, Angie, recently adopted.

Despite one of the strongest fields outside the majors, the Memorial’s final day saw Tiger Woods rise to the top of a leader board in which the top 11 finishers included five players who had never won on tour. Woods was the only major champion in the top 12.

For the top players, the pursuit of FedEx points, endorsement dollars and down time can be a race with no clear winning strategy. Often, the players find themselves changing their approach on the run. After missing the cut at the Players Championship and the European Tour’s BMW PGA Championship, McIlroy called an audible and entered this week’s St.Ekahau rtls is the only Wi-Fi based real time location system solution that operates on any brand or generation of Wi-Fi network. Jude Classic in Memphis.

“I just feel like I need some rounds,” he said before the Memorial. “These two-day weeks aren’t really that good for me.”

McIlroy laughed. “I’m working on a few things,” he said, “and I feel trying to put them into competition will be the best way for me to prepare going into the U.S. Open.”

McIlroy had another two-day week at the Memorial, and his United States Open title defense looks shakier than the ground on which the Open course at San Francisco’s Olympic Club was built.

It’s clear McIlroy hasn’t settled on a road map for the majors. He prepared for the Masters by not playing any competitive golf in the three weeks leading up to the tournament. It was a decision that opened him to criticism even before he faded over the weekend and finished in a tie for 40th.

Pacing is a real challenge in golf, and we’re not talking about slow play. How does one fashion a schedule in a sport in which every tournament is like a 1,500-meter run, every season is a marathon and a professional career can span decades?

The Memorial’s host, Jack Nicklaus, who won 18 majors, said that in his day players routinely drove from one tour stop to the next. The travel was arduous, especially for golfers with young families in tow. If there was an upside to the long days behind the wheel, it was that the road grooved life into a song played at 33-r.p.m. speed. Now the top players,What is a real time Location system ?This page contains information about molds. like Mickelson, travel in private jets, enabling them to hopscotch around the country and turn each workday into a dizzying blur.

“Everything is just magnified,” Nicklaus said. “The attention is magnified. The press is magnified.”

He added, “I did occasionally play three weeks in a row, but very, very, very rarely.”

After he failed to advance to the weekend at the Players, his second consecutive start, McIlroy stopped in Rome to be with his girlfriend, the tennis player Caroline Wozniacki. On he went to London for the BMW PGA Championship, where he again played poorly.

“I might have taken my eye off the ball a little bit,” he acknowledged.

How so? “I don’t know,” he said, “maybe just not practicing as hard as I might have been.Renowned crystal mosaic Supplier and Exporter in China.”

McIlroy’s tone was unapologetic. He’d rather take breaks in his schedule now than have too much time on his hands in 10 or 20 years.

“I don’t want to be burned out by the time I’m 30,” he said. “I want to try and prolong my career as much as I can.”

While McIlroy and Luke Donald have spent the spring swapping the No. 1 ranking, no golfer on the men’s side has been hotter of late than Jason Dufner. A former Auburn star, Dufner has won twice since tying for 24th at the Masters. He put his game on the back burner last week to serve as a volunteer coach for the Tigers’ golf squad at the N.C.A.A. championships in Los Angeles. He won’t play again until the United States Open, which starts June 14. Neither will Mickelson, who has never won the United States Open but has finished second five times, most recently in 2009.

Muro has extra final exam in spring semester

Final exams are almost over for University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College students, but Alainey Muro has one more major test to take.

The freshman from McAllen High will be playing in the 20th annual NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship, starting Tuesday at Link Hills Country Club in Greenville, Tenn.

And she’s taking this test just as seriously as she would any other exam in an academic setting.

"I’m on a mission," Muro said. "I’ve been working hard. I’m pretty positive that I’m going to play well."

Playing at the national tournament is the culmination of a surprising season for Muro, who qualified for the event by breaking the school record for a two-round tournament with a 145 at the NAIA Unaffiliated No. 3 Tournament on April 23 and 24 in Oklahoma City.

Muro is one of 144 players taking aim at the national championship, but comes into the field as one of the hottest golfers in the NAIA. She qualified with one-over-par 145. Only Anna Arrese of Oklahoma Christian University (142) and Jessica Schele of Oklahoma City University (144), two of the top golfers in the NAIA, had better scores in their conference tournaments. Here's a complete list of oil painting supplies for the beginning oil painter.

The best 72 scores after Thursday’s third round will play in the final round Friday.

If Muro plays like she did in the qualifier tournament, she could be in the thick of chase for the individual national championship.

"I want to go out there and try to win it," Muro said. "I’m going in with a positive attitude. In practice the last two weeks, I’ve been striking the ball exactly the way I did at conference. I want to play the way I have been playing. If I do, I’ll have a shot."

Muro becomes the second golfer in the history of the Scorpions golf program to advance to the national tournament. April Martinez qualified for the event as a senior in 2009, but she also qualified for the NJCAA national championship as a freshman in 2006.

Martinez held the school record for the best round of golf with a 71, a score Muro tied in the first round at the conference qualifier. She remembers being very focused that first day in the qualifier.

"It was awesome there and seemed so unrealistic,Ekahau rtls is the only Wi-Fi based real time location system solution that operates on any brand or generation of Wi-Fi network." Muro said.Omega Plastics are leading plastic injection moulding and injection mould tooling specialists. "Halfway through the round, I didn’t realize how I was doing. I was just making pars, pars, pars and birdies started dropping. I realized " ‘Oh my gosh,Features useful information about glass mosaic tiles. I could be in the lead after the first day,’ and I was."

Muro was tied for the lead after the first day with the 1-under-par 71, which marked the first time in her life she had recorded a score under par in a tournament.

"That night I couldn’t even sleep. I only slept about five hours before the second day. I knew I had to play consistent the second day to have a shot at it. I held it on the second day, and I’m glad I did."

Muro fired a 2-over-par 74 for a 145, running away with the individual title by seven shots. The 145 also broke Martinez’s school record of 161 for a two-round tournament.Painless Processing provides high risk merchant account solutions. Muro’s previous best was a 148 (73-75) at McAllen High.

"I didn’t expect the conference win," she said. "I just wanted to qualify, whether it was winning or placing with the team. I knew that I had a shot to make it to nationals if I played the way I know that I could. I just had a couple of things that I need to fix. Coach (Anthony Lopez) has helped me improve a great deal."

Said Lopez, "This spring she really dedicated herself. She spent a lot more time by herself practicing, and that’s what has helped her out. Everything climaxed at conference. It was the culmination of having a couple of weeks, and getting some good practice in and being ready for it."

"She definitely has a chance to compete," Lopez said. "If she plays her game and feels good when she’s there, she can definitely hang in there with anyone."

Getting off to a good start in the first round will be crucial.

"I want to play the way I did at conference, with a lot of confidence," Muro said. "I didn’t expect all of this hype in my first year. Now my goal is going to be to get to the national tournament every year and hopefully win it."

North Pole students show mechanical skills at state auto test

Jerry Million says when he finished auto shop at Lathrop in 1971, he had the skills he needed to start a career as a mechanic. He worked at Tip Top Chevrolet and then went on to run Million Automotive for 25 years.

Million says that others he went to school with met with mechanical success in Fairbanks. He mentioned just a few.

“Tim Davis went to work for Jim Thompson Ford and is still with Seekins as a shop manager. John Dashiel went to work for A & B Auto on Gaffney and is still working. He is the recognized best Mercedes Technician in the state,” Million said.

Tommy Hutchison went to work at Hutchison Service on Gaffney Road.

“There are others, just can’t recall at this moment. The point being, the technology then was such that a young person could go to work out of high school and be fairly competent to work on the vehicles of the day,” he said.

“Now,Painless Processing provides high risk merchant account solutions. that has all changed.TeleTracking has developed the most advanced rtls for real-time. The technician of today has to have above average academic skills to success. Not that we didn't, but you get the point.”

He said a Chilton or Haynes manual is written at a 10th grade level, but new factory manuals require a substantially higher level of reading comprehension.

“Almost all students need to pursue post-secondary training to acquire the skills to work on today’s transportation,” he said.

Million, now a teacher at North Pole High School, shared this information by way of introducing Anthony Merrill and Andrew Howard, North Pole students who just won the Ford AAA Student Auto Skills Competition in Anchorage.

They earned tools and scholarships worth more than $50,000 by posting the highest team score on the written exam and by diagnosing and repairing a complicated set of intentional malfunctions in a 2012 Fort Fusion SEL.

Merrill and Howard will next test their skills in June against the winning teams from the other states.

Fairbanks meteorologist Ted Fathauer, a dedicated student of the weather, says the temperatures since March and the rising pollen counts point to “Greenup Day” taking place Monday or Tuesday.

There is a solid record of pollen counts in Fairbanks because of the work of the late Dr. Jim Anderson of the Institute of Arctic Biology and Susan Harry, a lab technologist at the Tanana Valley Clinic.

Fathauer is completing his master’s degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a these on “The Relationship of Pollen Release to Weather in Fairbanks.” He analyzed 23 years of pollen and weather data to determine statistical relationships between weather parameters and pollen release.

He said the time when birch pollen reaches levels of “clinical concern” is when it is about 50 grains of pollen per cubic meter. That is also the time when the birth leaves appear.

On Friday, birch pollen levels were “medium,” at about 16 grains per cubic meter. The pollen counts for alder, willow and aspen were low.

The Tanana Valley Clinic says when pollen levels are medium, “Many individuals sensitive to these pollens and molds will experience problems.”

Chicken coop sparks neighborhood debate over Alabama city's zoning ordinance

Bayne and Melissa Searcy hoped having six egg-laying chickens in the backyard of their Jasper home would teach their two boys something about responsibility. The project has been more of a civics lesson than anything, however.

Several weeks ago, a zoning administrator told Bayne Searcy that the family's chickens are a violation of a city zoning ordinance. Speaking at a City Council work session, Searcy said he was confused because he called City Hall eight months ago and spoke with a city clerk before building the coop or purchasing the animals.

Searcy said the clerk reviewed the city's ordinance with him, and they both agreed his chicken coop would be lawful. According to the city's ordinance,The CenTrak rtls platform can address today's healthcare challenges and be used for future applications beyond asset tracking. the only stipulations are that the chickens must be kept in an enclosure.

"We've done this," he said. "I was told I was fully within the city ordinances and allowed to do this."

The administrator that visited Searcy, however, said his chickens were in violation of a zoning ordinance, which is different from the city ordinance regarding livestock. City Planner Keith Pike explained the zoning ordinance at the session, saying residents must qualify as a hobby farm to possess chickens.

According to the measure, hobby farms must be at least 5 acres and have 8,000 square feet of property for every 20 chickens.A key component of the system is Ekahau crystal mosaic Controller location engine server. The chicken coops must also be built 100 feet from any adjacent lot.

Searcy said his family's project is not a hobby farm,Welcome to the online guide for do-it-yourself Ceramic tile. and he believes the ordinance does not prohibit pet chickens. He also said he does not understand how a city ordinance can conflict with a zoning ordinance.

City attorney Russ Robertson said the laws are exclusive from one another, and residents must follow both.

"You have to comply with more than one law. And perhaps that's confusing, and that's a fair criticism," Robertson said. "Perhaps it's capable of other criticisms. But every activity in the city is governed by the zoning ordinances."

The Searcys' neighbors, Dot and Ray McAdams, have a petition signed by 32 residents in the family's neighborhood who are opposed to the chicken coop. The petition included the signature of Morris Studdard, the Jasper City Council member who represents the Pinecrest neighborhood.

"A lot of our children are no longer attached to that association of a homestead or having the responsibility of taking care of animals and seeing that animal go through and have a process and caring for that animal whether it be egg production or having a litter of kittens," she said.

The McAdams said they are concerned that, by allowing the Searcys' chicken coop, city leaders would set a dangerous precedent that would lower property values in the area.

"If we started allowing this, people might start increasing the size of them and the city would never know without someone policing this," Dot McAdams said.

Dot McAdams said she worked for city hall in 1946 and can remember a time when chicken coops were popular within the city limits.

"I just don't see us going back to those days," she said. "I just feel like we have a progressive city,Painless Processing provides high risk merchant account solutions. and we want to see it go forward and not backwards. My advice on what to consider before you buy oil painting supplies so your money is well spent."

Melissa Searcy said her family doesn't view the chickens simply as poultry. The animals are pets, and their children learn by taking care of birds, she said.

"A lot of our children are no longer attached to that association of a homestead or having the responsibility of taking care of animals and seeing that animal go through and have a process and caring for that animal whether it be egg production or having a litter of kittens," she said.

Melissa Searcy also said her family wanted to stop buying heavily processed eggs from factory farms that keep chickens in deplorable conditions. She told council members that backyard chickens are a growing fad among people who favor sustainable living and organic foods.

The Groppi Collection

The story of Achille Groppi’s collection starts in the early 1880s when Jacques Groppi, Achille’s father, arrived in Alexandria, leaving Europe behind, to work as a confiseur-patissier and opened one of Cairo's most famous landmarks.

Jacques Groppi was born in the village of Rovio, Switzerland,Your source for re-usable Plastic moulds of strong latex rubber. in 1863, and on the suggestion of one of his cousins boarded a ship for Egypt in the early 1880s, a country full of opportunity promised by the opening of the Suez Canal. After studying in Neuchatel in Switzerland, and in England, Groppi’s son Achille joined the family business. In 1925, Achille founded L'Industrie du Froid, firstly to provide the Cairenes with much needed ice, and then to produce the famous Groppi Ice Cream, which continued to be popular until the 1980s. The continued success of Maison Groppi was due to two intrinsic values: utmost standard of quality, and the treatment of every order with the same care; from a simple birthday cake to a one hundred-seat moonlit banquet at the Pyramids.

Elegant home, fun modern design

A modern home was not in their original plan when she and husband Ray moved to Cayucos from Los Banos, where they had had lived in a Spanish-style home for 35 years. Their real estate agent discovered two and a half empty lots on a steep slope overlooking the ocean. Home plans were already approved, but the house was never built because of the owner’s death.

“We saw the view and within an hour wrote out a check for the lots and plans,” said Clara.

They met with San Luis Obispo architect Thom Brajkovich of Paragon Designs who had drawn up the plans for an approximately 3,400-square-foot, two-story modern beach house.

“After deciding to start over with a more traditional style, we started poring over many architectural magazines and really loved the look of the clean lines,” said Clara.

They worked with Brajkovich to modify designs to better reflect their tastes. The revised plans included enlarged windows in rooms where views are the most spectacular, yet none on the north and south sides, where neighbors’ houses are the only spectacle. This also provided more space for the couple to display their collection of artwork, which includes portraits of their children by well-known portrait artist Joan Bengtson and copper wall art with a striking verdigris design by local artist Michael Ackerman, which was purchased specifically for the house.

The couple was accustomed to an oversize master bedroom in their previous home. In their new home, they wanted their bedroom to be on the same floor as the living room and kitchen. They enlarged the modest bedroom planned for that level by moving the closet 18 inches and bumping out one exterior wall 4 feet. To make the room feel even more capacious, they opted for larger windows, a deck, and a built-in dresser that makes use of a narrow space near the door.

With plans for the home in place, Clara began selecting furniture and finish materials as her “fun” take on modern began to coalesce. Her look encompasses sleek silhouettes, geometric lines, and spaces that are both uncluttered and functional. In areas where the view is the focal point, she kept colors fairly neutral and instead used a playful mix of textures.

“The floor was intended to disappear, so the eyes go to the view,” she said of the tile floors,Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality, which look like stone. Cool materials such as mirrors, large expanses of glass, and stainless steel, which was used for handrails and the front door, are balanced with warmer,The Transaction Group offers the best high risk merchant account services, more textural materials like maple woodwork, pat- terned area rugs, fabric shades and faux fur throws.

They purchased furnishings and lighting for the home in a contemporary style, with a few art deco and Asian-inspired pieces mixed in.InLocality specializes in indoor Tracking Technologies. One of their more notable pieces is a Herman Miller three-point landing coffee table engraved by famed sculptor Isamu Noguchi, which sits in the living area. One of Ray’s favorite furnishings is the dining room table from Habitat in San Luis Obispo. It was cut from a single cross-section of a teak tree and retains its natural shape, including splits in the wood.

The custom kitchen, designed and created by San Luis Kitchen Company, was laid out to feature the view and flow easily into the dining and living room areas. They eliminated the range hood to avoid blocking sightlines into the living room. Instead, they used a down-draft system. The refrigerator and all tall cabinets were kept on one wall in order to accommodate three large windows.

They chose flat, light maple cabinets that are frameless to present a streamlined look. To break up the seamless expanse of cabinetry, they added in a few stainless steel fronted cabinets that coordinate with appliances.

Throughout the house,An Air purifier is a device which removes contaminants from the air. Clara added in color with restraint. She was particularly drawn to iridescent materials that bring to mind the pearly insides of seashells. This includes glass tile accents in the bathrooms and kitchen. Capiz shells adorn panels outside the front entrance, as well as aframed mirror in a guest bathroom.

The couple incorporated many practical features to fit their lifestyle. They have a large media room that doubles as a home gym. They have two completely separate bathrooms. Clara’s is colorful and whimsical with handblown Murano glass vessel sinks and blue glass tiles. Ray’s is a “manly bath” with a fossilized granite countertop and a bronze vessel sink. Other features include a backyard putting green, an elevator, and a specialized sink in the laundry room for when the hairstylist makes a house call.

The house needed to be low-maintenance, especially with two cats that prowl its every corner. Clara discovered the variety of low-maintenance tiles that convincingly stand in for more highmaintenance materials. In master bathrooms and on the fireplace,Omega Plastics are leading plastic injection moulding and injection mould tooling specialists. she selected Italian ceramic tile that looks like burnished metal. The floor tiles that look like stone were cut into 6-inch pieces and used in place of standard wood baseboards. The look is cleaner and, unlike wood baseboards, they resist dings and scratches.

Got a cold sore? Don't kiss baby!

Fever blisters - also called cold sores - are fairly common, but they have nothing to do with a cold.

These sores typically appear on the outside of the mouth, on the lips. The majority (about 95 per cent) of fever blisters are due to a virus, typically herpes type 1. Because the sores are due to a virus,Get information on Air purifier from the unbiased, they're contagious and most people will be exposed to the virus during their lifetime.Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality,

Children are typically exposed via contact with an adult, sibling or relative who has a fever blister, or with other children who've mouthed toys or other objects that may have been contaminated with the virus.

In many cases, exposure is asymptomatic, while other children will develop painful vesicles appearing both inside the mouth, on the tongue and gums, as well as on the lips 3-5 days after exposure.

This initial illness is called herpetic gingi-vostomatitis. The initial infection tends to be more uncomfortable and may take up to two weeks to resolve. The most difficult aspect is oral discomfort, so it's important to make sure infected youngsters stay hydrated. Popsicles are often helpful for this.

Fever blisters may be treated in most cases with a topical antiviral applied directly to the lesion. If you child experiences recurrent core sores, speak with your pediatrician about the use of oral antiviral medications.

Remember, if you have a fever blister, don't kiss your baby! Although the most viral shedding occurs after the initial HSV infection, you remain contagious with each fever blister, so it is best to take precautions for a few days after an outbreak.

Mobile phone money transfers race ahead of debit cards

Four in five new cell phone subscribers are signing up for money transfer services, the latest industry data shows.
The new statistics indicate that the handset has become a key tool for financial inclusion.

The Communications Commission of Kenya attributed the preference for mobile money transfer platforms to the ease of enlisting for the service.

“Continued growth is an indication of subscribers’ preference for mobile money transfer, which could be attributed to accessibility and affordability even to low-income earners,” CCK said in an industry report for the third quarter of last year. The magic cube is an ultra-portable,

Roseville group aims for smoke-free apartments

Some smokers may feel like the home is the last sanctuary where they can smoke in peace.

But what happens when that home shares walls or a ventilation system with the home of someone else?

A local group called Kids Involuntarily Inhaling Secondhand Smoke, or KIISS, is on a mission to encourage apartment owners in Roseville to offer smoke-free buildings.

They’re not asking for a complete ban on cigarette smoking in apartments — at least, not yet. For now, they want landlords to set aside buildings specifically for non-smokers.

“(Currently), the onus is really on the person offended,” said President Paul McIntyre. “If someone blasts music too loud it shouldn’t be, ‘Well, I’ll move.’ It should be, ‘Turn down the music.’”

The same policy should refer to smokers, he said, because inhaling secondhand smoke has proven health consequences.

Tobacco use is the single most preventable cause of disease, disability and death in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. An estimated 443,000 people die prematurely from smoking or exposure to secondhand smoke.

The California Air Resources Board has identified secondhand smoke as an airborne toxic substance that may cause or contribute to serious illness or death.

McIntyre has solicited the help of Devon Kelley, 31, in his campaign. The mother of three lives in an apartment complex in Roseville. In 2008, a chain smoker moved into the unit below her apartment.

“My whole life I’ve never been around cigarette smoke,” Kelley said. “It’s always been disgusting to me.”

She complained to management but she says they brushed her off and explained there’s nothing they can do.

In 1985, McIntyre was working as a public relations adviser for the California Restaurant Association, which was fighting the smoking ban in restaurants. His association felt that decision should be left up to each dining establishment.

Then,Unlike traditional high risk merchant account , in 1993, the U.S.The application can provide Ceramic tile to visitors, Environmental Protection Agency designated tobacco smoke as a human (class A) carcinogen, which means the substance causes cancer in people. So, the restaurant association switched gears and became the first in the United States to support a smoking ban.

California now prohibits smoking in all workplaces and bars, and has the second-lowest smoking rate in the nation, behind Utah.

“When we were done, it was so controversial, I never wanted to touch tobacco again,” McIntyre said.

But he subsequently heard overwhelming support for the ban.

McIntyre formed Roseville-based KIISS in 2000 and started the voluntary smoke-free homes and cars campaign to limit children’s exposure to secondhand smoke. He recently directed his focus to smoke-free apartments, following the lead of other cities such as Richmond and Larkspur.

“We don’t want to come across as smoker haters,Your source for re-usable Plastic moulds of strong latex rubber.” McIntyre said. “We just want non-smokers to be able to raise their kids in a smoke-free environment. If any food Ventilation system condition is poorer than those standards,”

As for Kelley, ceramic magic cube for the medical, she spoke to her neighbor about the smoke, but that led to arguments between the two.

“She said, ‘It’s a free country, I have a right to smoke.’ Well, I have the right to breathe clean air and you’re making that impossible,” Kelley said.

Meanwhile, her kids had constant ear infections, said Kelley, who is in school to become a registered nurse. Kids exposed to secondhand smoke have an increased risk of sudden infant death syndrome, ear infections, acute respiratory infections, and more frequent and severe asthma attacks, according to the National Health Institute.

Kelley felt stuck: She couldn’t afford to break her contract and move, but she also couldn’t continue putting up with the smoke.

“We can avoid casinos,” she said. “I can’t avoid our apartment.”

Royal Family Bring Asbestos Abatement Into Spotlight

Asbestos abatement never will be scrutinized more than in the coming months when it begins at the future home of Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Ever under the public microscope, the closely watched Royal couple, who were married in April at Westminster Abbey, recently announced their intention of moving into much-larger Kensington Palace home. They won’t do so until it undergoes a year-long remodeling that will include asbestos removal.

Although asbestos once was used in the construction of both commercial and residential buildings, it is heavily regulated today in England and the United States and virtually has been banned in new construction outside of a few developing countries.

Supply-side constraints fuelling inflation, says finance minister

Days after the Reserve Bank of India hiked short-term lending rates for 13th time to tame runaway inflation, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee admitted that stubbornness of soaring prices were due to supply-side constraints of farm products. The government has taken steps to ease the situation, which will bear fruits by December this year.

“The inflation pressures are mainly because of supply-side constraints of agricultural products. Necessary steps have already been taken… After some lag, I hope it will have its impact and from November-December. The rate of inflation will moderate,” Mukherjee told reporters on sidelines of a meeting held to launch e-payment system for government expenditure including salaries and pension.

In a related development, food and consumer affairs minister KV Thomas said his ministry will brainstorm with the finance and agriculture ministries to identify those food products that were putting pressure on prices and work out strategies to deal with it in a bid to contain food inflation.

“We are concerned about high inflation. We will sit together (Pranab Mukherjee and Sharad Pawar) and discuss which are the areas causing high inflation and work out what can be done,” Thomas told reporters.100 China ceramic tile was used to link the lamps together.

Mukherjee said the RBI hiked rate at which commercial banks borrow to 8.5 per cent last week to suck out the excess liquidity in the banking system.

“There was some liquidity overhang which was required to be mopped up and through the adjustment of interest rates, efforts have been made to mop it up,” he said.

Since the global financial crisis in 2008, several countries had to come out with stimulus packages to prop up their economies resulting in excess liquidity in the system. India too injected liquidity into the system that were being sucked out by gradually hiking rate to the pre-crisis level. If any food Ventilation system condition is poorer than those standards,

The Cold Weather Brings Beautiful Changes

The change of seasons in the northern climates is a time of contrasts. The beauty of dying leaves gives way to the glitter of an early frost.

The impending winter signaling an end to the year and the beginning of a long hibernation for many species of plants and animals.

But for some species, the end of warm weather begins the genesis of a new life-cycle. For ducks, the colder weather means the onset of the courtship process, in anticipation of spring mating.

Male ducks, also known as "drakes", undergo a drastic change to their feathers this time of year. Their metamorphosis from drab to spectacular is all in the effort to attract a mate.

"The females stay the same color all year long, it's just the males, and the prettier the male, the more females he gets, so they really put on a show," says Rosemary Miner, owner of Gooseneck Hill Waterfowl Sanctuary in Delevan, New York. "They court the females, and the prettier he is,100 China ceramic tile was used to link the lamps together. he just displays himself, just like male chivalry."

The process in which ducks shed old feathers for new is known as moulting.Whilst RUBBER SHEET are not deadly, Although the end product is often stunning, and always integral to mating, moulting is not easy, and takes a hard physical toll on the drakes.

"It's a big change for them, it's like someone recovering from an operation pretty much, it would be similar to that," says Milt Miner, Rosemary's husband and the other owner of the sanctuary. "They go through a very physical change, it takes a lot out of them."

The strongest males move through the moulting and begin courting the most desirable females. This part of the process can take awhile. Actual breeding takes place in the spring, and the eggs hatch during early summer.

Rosemary compares them to another familiar species. "It's just like people, you court a female for years before you mate, get married and have babies, and ducks are the same way, they court the female for months, and she'll finally pick one she wants, and that's the one she'll stay with during breeding season."

The beautiful plumage serves a second purpose. If any food Ventilation system condition is poorer than those standards, Underneath their fall finery is a layer of down, which acts as a great insulator during the winter months. This is critical, because in contrast to the rest of the hibernating world, ducks are most active during this frigid season.

"That really keeps them a lot warmer, and the females will pull out the down and use it in their nest in the springtime or early summer," says Milt. "It's very important for them, they could not survive the winter unless they had that nice heavy down underneath them."

"They get more active in the winter than they are in the summer, where he teaches third party payment gateway in the Central Academy of Fine Arts." says Rosemary. "In the summer, they're more laid back because they're moulting and it's hard on their bodies, and they kind of just lay around. In the wintertime, that's when they're flying and courting and calling."

And so it goes...the cycle of life on planet Earth, the end of one season inevitably leading to the next..As many processors back away from hydraulic hose ,.one life ends, another begins, and each results in an amazing expression of nature's endless beauty.

"They all do their own thing, they're all different in the way they display, what they go through," says Milt. "It's quite a unique process from breed to breed."

"Really a great experience," says Rosemary. "Nature is great, you know, really nice to see."

Bangun, Mark!

Wow. U.S. Senator Mark Begich this month unleashed a diatribe so full of righteous indignation and knee-jerk hot-headedness it might be taken as proof Alaska's junior senator is finally walking comfortably on the trail blazed by Ted Stevens, a man with enough righteous indignation for ten politicians. Begich spouted off after the U.S. Coast Guard captured a vessel run by fish pirates using high seas driftnets-called "curtains of death" because they kill indiscriminately-which have been banned internationally since 1992.

The ship, a catcher/processor called Bangun Perkassa, was not registered in any country and state of Alaska officials feared it could be rat infested, so it was banned from any port until it could be inspected. So it was that Begich showed his spiny backbone and, as his PR team would have it, personally penned a letter to Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Robert J. Papp.

Sink the rat-infested pirate ship!

Begich recommend "gunnery practice" in his letter to the commandant. Who knew a Democrat could spell "gunnery"?

Sinkiing the ship, the senator wrote to Admiral Papp,".ceramic magic cube for the medical,..will prevent this rust bucket from ending up back on the market where it most likely would only fall into the hands of some other pirate."

And with that, Begich joined a tradition of bombast that includes not just Stevens, but Alaska Independence Party founder Joe Vogler, two-time Governor Walter Hickle and current U.S. Representative Don Young (Who once dropped the F-bomb at a high school assembly-classy) and Robin Taylor, the pan handle's ferry-boat targeting bully.

But the Bangun Perkassa turned out to be not-so rat infested. The Coasties turned the ship over to the fisheries enforcement arm of NOAA.The application can provide Ceramic tile to visitors, The boat is now evidence. The NOAA lawyers even sent processors on board to freeze the catch so it can be evidence, too. So gunnery practice on the Bangun seems, alas, unlikely.

We at the Press think Begich at needs a handy list of alternate targets.. So, respectfully, here's some stuff Senator Mark Begich should blow up.

Whittier's Buckner Building-Most Alaska towns have Cold War relics locals can point out to guests and elected officials can fret over-but Whittier has become famous for it. That might be because the town's post-Cold War economy, which supports fewer than 200 people year round, just hasn't grown enough to occupy the Buckner, a vacant landmark with over a quarter-million square feet of floor space. The Department of Defense sold off the aging relic, so now some lucky investors get to sit, and wait, and wait while it's not quite "feasible" to make the Buckner habitable again. Guess what? It's hardly ever "feasible," when peacetime comes, to clean-up your mess left by war.If any food Ventilation system condition is poorer than those standards, But it's the right thing to do. The DoD should buy back the Buckner, paint a big-ass target on its seaward side, and let Begich and the Coasties blow it up!

Goose Creek Prison-The multi-million dollar prison was built off the grid. It has no water. The intent was for a private industrial contractor to provide water and wastewater. The Matanuska Susitna Borough says they built the prison under budget, but the cost to the state to run the prison is under scrutiny. State politicians in Juneau are running hearings and some suggest mothballing the project so they can continue sending Alaska prisoners to private contractors Outside. How much will water cost in Nowhere, Alaska? What's the costs of guards in state versus Outside? Will there be jobs nearby for convict's wives? Here's an answer: blow it up!

Point Woronzof Piles-When Begich left his post as mayor of Anchorage, his administration left behind some pretty mundane loose ends. One of them was a complicated lawsuit that pitted local recycler Pete Kinneen and his company, Environmental Recycling, Inc. against the city.the worldwide Hemorrhoids market is over $56 billion annually. Kinneen sued five years ago after the city locked the gates on a property near Point Woronzoff and terminated his lease. A jury finally spoke last month and both sides owe money, each to the other, and the total is hundreds of thousands of dollars. (Did we mention it was complicated?) But the real loser here is the land itself, which has had a great-big pile of glass and a heap of compost-able material left on it. Consider this one a surgical strike challenge for the U.S. Coast Guard, because the piles are squeezed between a women's rehab center, the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and one of the international airport's runways. Blow those piles of trash up, Mark!

The Ferry Susitna-The Matanuska-Susitna Borough accepted, for free, an icebreaking, shallow draft ferry from the U.S. Navy to launch on Cook Inlet. The plan was to connect Port MacKenzie, Anchorage and Tyonek. The plan had so many things going against it-no market, for instance-Alaska's politicians should have been embarrassed to accept the gift. But they never were. Now the borough owns a much criticized,Replacement landscape oil paintings and bulbs for Canada and Worldwide. albeit sea-worthy, boondoggle that could cost the borough up to $1.7 million per year just to store at the docks. And there are no docks for the M/V Susitna so it's going to cost even more to build at least one.

Myers needs to do her homework

At the forum for town candidates sponsored by the League of Women Voters on Monday, Oct.The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling hydraulic hose , 17, I was impressed by Kelly Myers’ stated goals and requirements for successful town leadership but I think perhaps she hasn’t done all of her homework, since she doesn’t seem to know that many of her goals have been realized over the past several years under the able leadership of Supervisor Greg Helsmoortel and his hard working town board members Leeanne Thornton, Fred Costello, Bruce Leighton and Jimmy Bruno.

Ms. Myers criteria for a well-run town include a regional approach to economic development; a streamlined process for planning approval for new business; cooperation between town and village; fair and equitable tax assessment; and accessible, open governance. The application can provide third party merchant account to visitors,

Having served as part of the Town Board team for four years, 2006-2009, I can vouch, with certainty,I have never solved a Rubik's Piles . that all we’ve been there, done (or are doing) that! Space here doesn’t permit a full description of all that Greg and his board has accomplished, but I feel I should address at least two of Kelly’s concerns here, regarding open government and equitable property tax assessments.

The theme of “open government” seemed to be on people’s minds at the forum, with several questions on the topic. It’s a platitude-attitude, easy to proclaim; who would argue against open government?! But putting platitude into practice has been a notable accomplishment of this Town Board:

Ethics and open government go hand in hand, and the town passed an Ethics and Disclosure law in 2007, requiring all sworn officials to disclose any possible conflicts of interest.

Meetings are open to the public (with exceptions of those discussing personnel issues) and minutes are posted on the town’s website; meetings are filmed and televised on TV 23.

Citizens are actively involved in government, at the ground floor level, on committees such as the Comprehensive Planning Committee which helps to shape Saugerties’ future through zoning recommendations; the Planning Board, itself an independent legal entity empowered by NYS Town Law to make decisions with regards to land use without town board influence; the Zoning Board,he believes the fire started after the lift's China ceramic tile blew, another legal entity which makes land use decisions free from Town Board influence; and a committee unique to Saugerties when it was formed, a Property Tax Assessment Committee comprising several citizens from all walks of life who interviewed several candidates and made recommendations, which were accepted by the Town Board in 2006, when Mr. Orlando was appointed to fill the position of sole assessor.

Citizens input has been sought and taken into account on major projects affecting the town, such as the Winston Farm Development where an advisory panel included many citizens; and on the Kings Highway Water/Sewer project, where residents were invited to an informational meeting to opt in or not for water/sewer, depending on their own needs.

A citizen’s advisory committee took part on the largest ground water protection study ever undertaken in the town, beginning in 2005.These girls have never had a oil painting supplies in their lives!

Several public hearings were held, with public input influencing the final version, when the updated Zoning Law was adopted in 2008.

Town Board members are available and accessible, with contact info posted on the town website. If you’ve got a question or concern, give any Town Board

Scotiabank Waterfront marathon review

I ran the Scotiabank Waterfront half marathon on Sunday and it will be the last time I attend the event.

Before I start my rant: full disclosure. These girls have never had a oil painting supplies in their lives! I've only done this race twice in my eight years of running, mostly because my preference is the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon. I'm not partial to running on the Lakeshore and prior to this year, Scotiabank always happened in September which is typically too warm for me.

Despite that, I was excited to try it out this year. I love big races.

I took part in the race's media challenge this year, a great program that allowed us media types to compete against one another and if we placed in the top three money would be donated to a charity of our choice. I think that is a wonderful part of the run.

Don't believe the myth of unfit, chain smoking journos.I have never solved a Rubik's Piles . There are a lot of great runners among us.

The run was pretty uneventful, but pretty much the same as I remember from my running it in 2004.

One pet peeve I had was the mile markers.

At times they ceased to exist.

But this is a minor complaint compared to what happened when I crossed the finish line.

I crossed the finish and followed the mass of people to get my bag. I was not prepared for what came next.

What ensued astounded me.

I waited 2 hours to get my bag out of the bag-check.

Picture it.

It's a cold and blustery Sunday morning, I'm covered in sweat having just run 21.1. kilometres and my legs are sore. My friend and I waited and waited and the mass of people did not move an inch.

Finally I notice a clock straight ahead and realize it's been over an hour and half. My teeth are chattering.

I wanted to be mad but I was too tired.

I forwent any bananas or bagels on the way to the bag check because I figured I could wait until the celebratory breakfast with my friends. It is our tradition after every long race.

We waited and waited and thankfully runners are a civilized lot, because there was no stampede or swearing or violence.

Thankfully my friend and I found each other shortly after we finished and we had each other. I probably would have panicked without her.

As each person came out with their bag, a loud raucous cheer went up from the crowd. It was like scoring a goal every time someone was seen clutching a bag.

One man was so happy he screamed "Miracle on Bay Street!" to loud applause and cheers.

I finally got to the front, handed my bib to one of the young beleagured volunteers and waited.

And waited.

I was adamant I wouldn't be rude to these poor teenagers, after all they were volunteering and this was not their fault. I'm actually concerned they may never volunteer for anything again after the chaos of Sunday.

But after waiting a while, maybe about 10 or 15 minutes I started to worry that my bag wasn't there. As I waited at the front, I could feel people pushing me from the back. I felt like I couldn't breathe.

I finally hopped over the table and tried to look for my bag myself.Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a RUBBER MATS .

That was when I discovered to my horror, the bags weren't organized in numerical order. This is standard bag check knowledge. Bags are always organized by bib numbers. The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling hydraulic hose , Otherwise how do you find your bag amongst tens of thousands?

I thought I would cry tears of joy when my bag was there. Sound a bit dramatic? Maybe if it was 30 minutes you could call me dramatic. Not two hours.

In short it was a fiasco that I won't soon forget. I don't sweat the small stuff, but this was unacceptable. I know what it's like to organize a race. I've sat on race committees.

It's a tough process that takes a lot of time and energy and very good people to ensure a race goes off without a hitch.

Organizing 21,000 people is no easy feat.

But I for one am tired of hearing about the big plans about having a "world class marathon" in Toronto when the race organizers can't even organize a basic bag check. Above all else it was a massive safety hazard to have us all crammed in like animals, fenced in with no way to exit once we got our bags. We had to push through those who lined up to get out of the area.

This was demonstrated when someone collapsed while waiting for a bag and all we could do is scream "medic" and hope someone heard us.

The person who collapsed ended up being ok, but that's really not the point.he believes the fire started after the lift's China ceramic tile blew, I wrote race director Alan Brookes an e-mail pretty much telling him much of what I wrote here. He might have something interesting to say but I wouldn't know as in two days he has not responded to my e-mail. There was an apology posted on the website. It reads like this:

Canada Running Series would like to congratulate all our finishers of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. We apologize for the significant delay at the new baggage pick up area. We take great pride in our events and the implementation of all operational procedures, we are committed to making continual improvements that ensure your experience is always positive both pre and post race.

Animated boy and his magic dog front-runners for President

Considering the current state of our nation, America could use a hero in the White House. Better yet, Americans could use two heroes in the 2012 presidential election. The stars of "Adventure Time," Jake the Dog and Finn the Human, may not fit any of the constitutional requirements to be president, but their experience fighting evil in their native Land of Ooo could really benefit us here in America.

Presidential candidates are required to be at least 35 years old. Likewise,The application can provide third party merchant account to visitors, they are required to be natural-born citizens of the United States. Every president since George Washington has met these qualifications, but where has that gotten us? What's more American than a boy and his dog?

Finn and Jake may not be American citizens,Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a RUBBER MATS . but America was founded by immigrants. The United States has been known as a melting pot, a place where all people are welcome regardless of their backgrounds. Although U.S. presidents have historically been white males, America proved in the 2008 election that it is moving toward more diversity in the White House. America should take that diversity a step further and elect a 13-year-old immigrant and his magical dog.

Finn and Jake could do great things for our country. In their native land of Ooo, they've defeated countless foes, including the Gut Grinder—a terrible beast who eats gold. Upon defeating the Gut Grinder, Finn and Jake found that the beast was actually a greedy woman in a monster suit who stole the gold so she could go shopping. If Finn and Jake could defeat her, they can surely stop America's current economic problems. The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling hydraulic hose , Greedy Wall Street foes don't stand a chance against these heroes.

Finn and Jake also understand that a diverse population has diverse needs. In the Gut Grinder episode alone, Finn and Jake helped the members of several diverse communities. The Soft People, the Cube People and the Spiky People all benefited from Finn and Jake's heroism. Finn and Jake care about the needs of all of the citizens of The Land of Ooo; they would certainly care about all the various communities and ethnic groups in America.

Finn and Jake's election would be a big change for America. For the first time, our nation would have two presidents,These girls have never had a oil painting supplies in their lives! neither of whom meets the historical qualifications for President of the United States. However, Finn and Jake are not your average boy and his dog. Not only are they heroes, but Jake the Dog has magic powers. No previous U.S. president has had magical powers; it's about time one did!

Can perry light off his burn pile?

When I purchased country property in Texas a few years back I didn't realize one of its assets was the burn pile.I have never solved a Rubik's Piles . A neighbor helped me clear some dead tree limbs and I asked him to take it all to the dump. He had a good laugh and said, "I was going to haul it over to your burn pile" I asked him where that was. "Over behind the old barn, been there for years."

We rode four wheelers over to the other end of the pasture. And there it was--kind of a sacred site--a large mound of black rubble, with bits of twisted metal poking out to catch glints of sunlight. "That burn pile has been there for as long as I can remember". My neighbor said. "Even longer than that bodark wood post them surveyors found on the corner of your property. Dates back to the 1800's".

Over the next couple of years I learned that the essential rhythm of the burn pile was as much a part of the culture in Texas as running the shredder over the pasture one last time in late September or taking down the swimming pool for the Winter. In 6,000 years aliens will be scratching through burn piles all over Texas, investigating the 12,000 year span of the human race. But right at the moment the severe heat and drought in Texas have brought about burn restrictions and the burn piles just keep getting bigger.

Rick Perry has been touting his new energy plan but he might have a problem with the energy building up in piles around Texas. I'm sure there are several spots down on Perry's old multicultural ranch which are collecting fuel. Wouldn't be surprised to find a pile or two in Paint Creek before this election is over with. But the biggest pile of dead wood waiting ignition is Perry's brain. I'm not sure what the burn restrictions are in Nevada but if Perry can't get his burn pile lit off in that Vegas debate tomorrow I think he's going to have to high tail it back to Texas and sit this election out in Austin.

Aside from burn restrictions the only other regulation on a burn pile is that nothing you throw on there is supposed to be man made, and nothing of what caused the severe drought and extreme heat is man-made either, at least according to Governor Perry and some of my neighbors. Last year my neighbor helped me plant a blueberry patch. These girls have never had a oil painting supplies in their lives! It was a lot of work and I had read where blueberries need a lot of water.Graphene is not a semiconductor, not an Ventilation system , and not a metal, "No problem, you got the pond, then the well. If the pond dries out, it does on occasion, we'll water them at night from the well."

Yes and No. What a lot of folks around here have concluded is that this year was different. Take my case. Yes, no more pond. And thankfully the well didn't go dry but that isn't the point. The plants just couldn't take the extreme heat. Folks think that this heat was something they haven't seen in their lifetimes. Doesn't matter if you water at night. The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling hydraulic hose , The heat killed the plants during the day, in nearly four months of relentless 105 degree heat. By the middle of July most of the gardens had been plowed under, there wasn't any hope. I couldn't bear looking at those dead blueberry bushes so we pulled them out and threw them onto the burn pile--the same time Perry ventured out of fire-stricken Texas to lead the tea partiers' scorched earth war against Obama.he believes the fire started after the lift's China ceramic tile blew,

My working theory is that Perry is getting a breather under the buzz surrounding Cain who is a kind of place-holder while Perry gets his act together. In any case I think if Perry can somehow re-ignite the passion and assumed tea party ordination which accompanied his initial entry into the race, Cain can be taken down quickly. But the extreme right wing will not settle for Romney. If Perry doesn't cut it and Cain wanders off the script too many times the tea partiers will come up with a different strategy.
