Different cuts from same cloth

Bill Belichick might have written the book on dour, but Tom Coughlin had the market cornered on being square.MDC Mould specialized of Injection moulds,

If one coach in the NFL looks like a “dark socks and sandals at the beach” type, it’s Coughlin.

He’s always been all business. Glasses. The thinning white hair swept to the side. Fast walker. That air of slight impatience as he rocks side-to-side in press conferences that are long on business, short on laughs.

The guy who long believed five minutes early is on time and four minutes early is actually late doesn’t have a cool, away-from-football alter ego like Belichick does tooling around Nantucket on his boat with Jon Bon Jovi in tow.

So it’s interesting to see the controlling Coughlin not just tolerating his players’ verbal brashness but – in some cases – jumping in himself.

While the Patriots are still name, rank and serial number for the most part under Belichick, the Giants make more guarantees than Bob’s Furniture.

And Coughlin has at times gotten a tad brash himself. Relatively speaking. After the Giants win over the 15-1 Packers at Lambeau Field last month,Daneplast Limited UK are plastic injection mould & toolmaking specialists. Coughlin said in the postgame, “I think we’re a dangerous team. I like where we are.”

This week, while Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz have taken turns disparaging Patriots wideout/DB Julian Edelman and Antrel Rolle has been doling out guarantees, Coughlin hasn’t told anyone to dummy up.

Has Coughlin changed?

“Probably, but I think it’s important as the process of learning,” Coughlin said. “You learn, develop, and change every year. You have to bring a fresh approach each year to your team, especially when you’ve been doing it a few years in the same place.Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality, If I’ve changed, it’s been an attempt to motivate and put us in the best possible chance that we can be.”

And Coughlin seems to believe that letting his team be itself and forge its own personality is the best way for it to motivate itself. It’s a supremely confident team, especially for a group that went 9-7 and had a four-game losing streak that had them on the verge of missing the playoffs.

But that confidence also allows it to forget about the bumps and then go into Lambeau or San Francisco and win.

Coughlin’s approach is a galaxy removed from the other head football coach in New York, Rex Ryan, who’s willingness to let whatever hits his brain exit his mouth was happily adopted by his players when he joined the team in 2009 and resulted in a 2011 implosion.

But Coughlin does let the players express themselves.

“Players have personalities and they are who they are,” Coughlin noted. “You want a certain amount of that on your football team, but you don’t want someone who puts themselves in a position to hurt your team.”

Coughlin has positive proof that allowing his players to be brash helps them. In 2007, they talked themselves into the notion the Patriots – 18-0 coming into that Super Bowl – were a dynasty that needed to be buried.

They showed up in Arizona dressed in black – a funeral for the dynasty was their reasoning. And they went out and backed up their brashness with one of the greatest upsets in NFL history.

Coughlin’s players say he really isn’t as bad as his reputation.I have just spent two weeks shopping for tile and have discovered China Porcelain tile.

“My first season I questioned a lot of things that Coach Coughlin was doing,” said Rolle. “After taking a step back and reflecting on all of it, I understand exactly why he is the way he is. I used to always wonder, I felt like he was always trying to turn us into men. Does he not know that we are men before we ever step on the football field here as a Giant? I used to ask myself questions like that. Once I matured enough and I took a step back, he is not trying to turn us into men, he is trying to help us become better men.”

The buy-in from his team is apparent in the way they revere him. After the Giants beat the Patriots in November, they carried him off the field on their shoulders.

“When Coach Coughlin comes up, everybody wants to talk about how rough he is, how unforgiving he is, how the reigns are pulled back pretty tight on the football team, but playing for him is golden for me,” said defensive end Justin Tuck. “You know exactly what to expect from him,The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, you know what he expects from you. It’s easy to go out and do your job when you don’t have to go out and worry about what we are doing here, what are we doing there. I love playing for the guy, and I hope I get to play the rest of my career for him.”

TMJ solutions: evaluation and treatment planning

When I’m asked about TMJ treatment, it seems that just as many treatments have stayed the same as those that may have changed over the years. Seemingly the level of stress brought on by our recent economic woes as a nation has certainly doubled the number of patients with TMJ dysfunction in my office over the past several years. Many people focus their stress either in their low back,Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality, upper back and neck, or facial muscle and jaw joint areas. This has a lot to do with old, unresolved injuries as well as current issues with injury and stress, among others.

TMJ dysfunction in its broadest terms is broken down into pure joint and bone issues or muscular issues. Muscular issues tend to be the causative agent more than 90% of the time, which amounts to parafunctional habits such as clenching or grinding of teeth. A vast majority of these abnormal habits are stress-related. The purely bone- and joint-related issues may have degeneration of the cartilage disc or the bony surface of the joint as the cause. Many times an MRI can be a great diagnostic tool if the issues are chronic and severe. But in early stages, many times just simple splint therapy is all that’s required, and it is easily reversible.

I remember several decades ago a surgical technique developed to “cure” jaw joint pain and problems permanently. It involved a man-made Teflon disc of false cartilage called the “proplast disc.” Oral surgeons would operate on the painful joints, remove the bad discs of human cartilage, place the proplast disc, and close up the area. Sadly, almost every case ended up with patients in far worse shape within one to two years, and those affected having numerous follow-up surgeries. In most cases, the man-made disc, even though it is slicker than any substance developed to date, was much too abrasive for load bearing of the jaw joint. It had worn through the articular surface of the temporal bone, and had to be removed from patients’ skulls. Certainly it proved a scary outcome for the patients involved as well as something we should remember as physicians: sometimes the simplest solutions are the best, and surgical intervention should be a last resort.

Stress, injury, and habits that damage muscle and jaw joints are constants, comparatively speaking. What can be done in this day and age without risky surgical procedures to assist patients with simpler treatments is what we should be providing as solutions to such issues. Numerous courses of treatment are available today, and combinations of such treatments are often synergistic in nature.

The first assessment should be determination of how serious an issue does a patient possess, and secondly, is this mainly a muscular issue or a physical joint problem, which perhaps may require different intervention. For jaw joint issues, there may be problems an MRI would reveal.A mold or molds is a hollowed-out block that is filled with a liquid like plastic, A severely damaged disc and advanced condylar or articular surface damage may very well require surgical intervention, but those cases are truly — and thankfully — few and far between. Suffice it to say, I’m a fan of the alternative in almost every instance. Many widely known treatments are what we’ll describe herein.

What I must impress on anyone searching for a means to assist in any of the following modalities is to understand the root cause of most, if not all, “problems” in the body. Mankind must learn or adapt to every circumstance that creates stress. Neanderthals had to deal with getting eaten by saber-toothed tigers. Our stress-creators number like the stars, including finances, marriage, kids, and workplace, to name a few. It’s not that we all have stress — that conclusion is obvious. It’s how we deal with that stress. We either remove it and allow healing or internalize it,I have just spent two weeks shopping for tile and have discovered China Porcelain tile. The magic cube is an ultra-portable, which leads to disease or lack of healing. For those not familiar with a very interesting body of work performed by Dr. Masaru Emoto, I would urge you to read his books that are widely available. All are based on water and what happens to water when subjected to nothing more than words and emotions. On a deeper level of understanding, I believe “The Message in the Water” and related books have to do with quantum physics and our ability to change our circumstances simply by using our minds and intentions. The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, It’s a remarkable premise and one that possesses some far-reaching implications for medicine and a myriad of other subjects.

The new nontraditional location

The new economic and operational realities of the foodservice marketplace are challenging operators to think outside the box when it comes to expanding their brands, which also means getting more imaginative when it comes to finding sites for new locations. The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling hydraulic hose ,

Operators have been installing scaled-down or customized versions of their concepts in airports, hospitals, office buildings and college campuses for years, but now they are finding ways to make their brands work at construction sites, bowling alleys, skating rinks,Whilst oil paintings for sale are not deadly, pharmacies, car washes, churches — virtually anywhere people might want to eat.Our high risk merchant account was down for about an hour and a half,

Experts cite unrelenting competition and the uncertain economy as reasons to search out more nontraditional opportunities, but they also maintain that an unconventional location can help boost business by introducing the brand to new patrons while keeping it in front of loyal fans.

Grant Benson, vice president of franchising and market planning for Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin’ Donuts, said such locations form a key component of the chain’s growth strategy.

“It brings the brand to new consumers who may not have a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant where they currently live and work,Replacement China Porcelain tile and bulbs for Canada and Worldwide.” he said. “It also allows our loyal guests to maintain their Dunkin’ ritual while they are away from home.”

Dunkin’ has more than 500 nontraditional locations in its U.S. system of more than 6,700 units, with outlets in theme parks, at airports and travel centers on superhighways, and at universities, sports stadiums and military bases, including The Pentagon.

Of course,Polycore porcelain tiles are manufactured as a single sheet, moving into nontraditional locations requires design and operational flexibility on the part of an operator. Reaching new customers was what Mike Lassiter had in mind when he developed alternative designs for his fast-casual Rising Roll Gourmet concept.

The 14-unit Atlanta-based chain, which serves a 90-item menu of sandwiches, soups and salads, normally requires ovens and ventilation systems. But as the economy went south in 2008, Lassiter and his team developed an “express unit” with a scaled-down menu that still features the brand’s best-selling items and what Lassiter called “a large enough selection.”

Express units are available in three designs, including a 750-square-foot grab-and-go outlet serviced by a regular-sized Rising Roll Gourmet. Meanwhile, the chain also offers self-sufficient express units that use magnetic ranges that don’t require a vent hood.

Some of the menu items need to be tweaked to fit the new format — chicken has to be roasted instead of grilled, for example. But, Lassiter said, “that really allows us to go to different locations. It allows us flexibility to work with nontraditional foodservice providers such as airports.”

Rising Roll is focusing on locations in Class A office buildings that offer little or no street visibility but contain something of a captive audience. The chain has three such locations, while leases have been signed for two more and are being negotiated for another two, Lassiter said.

Rising Roll Gourmet also is partnering with HMSHost in a proposal to open in the Atlanta airport, and with on-site feeder Aramark to open in universities.

Lassiter said such large on-site experts can make good partners, especially in the current economy, because they don’t have the financial hurdles to overcome that many smaller franchisees have.

Shore Lanes fire forces 35 people to evacuate

When Shore Lanes manager Cindy Mazon walked through the parking lot Tuesday afternoon, she could smell something was wrong.

"Usually when you walk outside, you can smell hamburgers or wings cooking," Mazon said about the bowling alley.

But this was a smell of something not on the menu.

"I looked back and saw smoke coming from the roof," Mazon said.

At the same time,he believes the fire started after the lift's RUBBER SHEET blew, the fire alarm system was activated about 2 p.m. inside the business at 600 N. Courtenay Parkway.

According to staff, there were about 35 people inside when the fire started, including 20 in a special needs group, who evacuated the building without incident.

"It was impressive that (special needs) workers could get them out of there so calmly, I was really impressed," Mazon said.

Damage from the fire was limited due to the actions of the bowling center staff, the building's fire suppression system and firefighters.

"A lot of things went right with this fire," said Lt.Replacement rubber hose and bulbs for Canada and Worldwide. Jeff Taylor of Brevard County Fire-Rescue.

Workers used dry chemical extinguishers on the fire that began in the kitchen area of the Nameless Sports Bar & Grill, which sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, Taylor said.

The initial report was a grease fire in a fryer, but firefighters entering the structure faced dark smoke, high heat and flames rolling across the ceiling.

"(Firefighters) were able to knock down the bulk of that fire pretty quickly," Taylor said.

After the fire was put out in the kitchen area, firefighters worked to stop fires that began to consume portions of a second floor storage area after moving up into the cooking area's ventilation system.

Although fire damage was limited to the sports bar kitchen and second floor, the 40,000-square-foot structure was filled with smoke.

He is happy to acknowledge

Unlike some of his closest friends - such as Sir Douglas Myers, with whom he recently travelled to the Galapagos Islands for a "wonderful" holiday; and Stephen Jennings, an investment banker who made his fortune in Russia - it is notable that Kerr has chosen to stay in New Zealand.

He is happy to acknowledge that it remains a peaceful and beautiful country, which counts for a lot in the world today. But he is still deeply concerned at the growing income gap between New Zealand and Australia, and the lack of local opportunities for talented people which draws so many young Kiwis overseas.

"I think there is a hell of a lot to worry about. This transtasman income gap is a serious issue. If we keep on going the way we are, the 35 per cent gap will become 40, or 45, or 50, in the space of 10 or 20 years. Just imagine the outflow of businesses and people at that point."

Two of his three children from an earlier marriage already live in the US. One is an executive at Microsoft, the other a Silicon Valley techie.

"It's not the OE these days - it's much different. The world is soon going to be screaming out for energetic,Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a chicken coop . talented people. With ageing populations and globalisation - it's only going to get easier to go find jobs somewhere else."

Another high-profile figure who frets publicly about the same problem is physicist Sir Paul Callaghan. Callaghan is also battling an aggressive cancer, in his colon, and Kerr reveals the two men have bonded over their fates, even though Callaghan is widely regarded as a "leftie". Kerr insists they have more in common than it might appear.

"Paul has been going on about prosperity for New Zealand and I think that's terrific. I said to him a while back: 'If both of us are alive in 12 months' time, I'd be very happy to talk to you a bit more about the way you're telling the prosperity story because with a bit of tweaking I could help you to make it a better, which applies to the first glass bottle only, more persuasive kind of story'."

If asked, he admits, Callaghan would probably say their economic beliefs were quite different. "But I think,If so, you may have a kidney stone . with more conversations, he would find that we're not that far apart."

Ever the optimist, it seems - except when it comes to our economic future. Realistically, New Zealand faces three likely scenarios, says Kerr.

"One is that we could decide it's high time to get our act together again and really play catch-up and push out in front as we once were. You can put your own probability on that.

"Another scenario is an economic crisis in the not-too-distant future. We are not robust, and we could easily be thrown into crisis again.

"The third scenario, which would be the more typical one,This patent infringement case relates to retractable syringe needle , is that we muddle through. We manage somehow to avert an economic crisis but we still keep looking like an irrelevant offshore island of Australia."

So there you go - we have all been warned.Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year. Except Kerr has clearly reached the point where he no longer cares whether he is eventually proved right.

He is, he enthuses, "in a very happy state in my life at the moment".

"I've had a great life and I hope it doesn't get foreshortened, but it might. I won't be looking back feeling grim or anything about that. We all have to come to an end at some point, and this is mine."

Exercise in creativity

Making housemade sodas is just one more way bartenders get to exercise their creative muscles, as they combine different fruits and herbs to come up with beguiling flavors. "I think my favorite part about making sodas for the bar is working with new and interesting flavors, things that you might not typically see in a soda from the average store," says Grner's Drew Putterman, who has a penchant for herbal or spiced sodas. "Most recently I finished a recipe for a lemon verbena soda that is really light and refreshing, perfect for the summer patio. It's reminiscent of a tea while having the nice refreshing carbonation of the soda."

Often these nonalcoholic combinations are a natural extension or even a byproduct of the cocktail menu itself. "With our seasonal cocktails,The newest Piles is incontrovertibly a step up from last year's model, we were making ingredients, like syrups, that didn't contain alcohol, and we discovered that we could use them in sodas," says James West, bar manager at Marche in Eugene.

West has made sodas in dozens of flavors, from rhubarb-vanilla to blackberry-honey,Houston-based rubber hose Resources said Friday it had reached pipeline deals inspired in part by what's going on in the restaurant's kitchen. "With the sodas, we can enjoy the seasonality of ingredients and have the restaurant philosophy come through in another way," he says.

To make standout sodas,Complete Your billabong boardshorts Magazine Collection for Less! flavoring agents such as fruits and vegetables must be transformed into a mixable, drinkable form, then sweetened and cut with soda water though not necessarily in that order.

Fruit, vegetables or herbs can be pureed or used to create infused syrups. For tough or stringy ingredients, a juicer is the easiest way to extract the flavor you want without having to deal with unwanted solids.

Seasonal flavors
When Douglas Derrick, bar manager at Nostrana, is working with soft seasonal fruits, such as berries or black currants, he favors purees, which he makes by whizzing the fruit in a blender or food processor, then straining to remove seeds and pulp. Derrick says it's the best way to get the pure flavor of the fruit into his sodas, and the purees allow him more control over the sweetness of the finished product. Each drink can be sweetened to taste. "I don't want to have a liter of (pre-sweetened) syrup and just add it to soda water," he says. "I want to have a fresh puree."

But syrups have their virtues, too. They have a longer shelf life and make it easier to mix up several servings at once. "It's so simple to build both your sweetness and flavor in one ingredient and then add soda water to that," says Welch.

At Lincoln, chef-owner Jenn Louis steeps ingredients such as citrus zest, fresh berries or herbs in simple syrup to create the base for sodas like blueberry-bay leaf and strawberry-mint. "I make a simple syrup using one part water to one part sugar," she says. "From there, you can pretty much add anything you want into it. You do want to make sure it is a strong syrup so its flavor comes out when you dilute it with the soda water, but you also don't want it overpowering."

The process can involve some trial and error to get the timing right: Let the herbs steep too long and the flavor can turn bitter. Too little and, well, what's the point? This summer, as you troll the farmers market for fresh produce for dinner,Basic information about Plastic molding including links. think like a bartender and pick up a little extra to make a refreshing batch of soda.
