John Penrose MP, Minister for Tourism & Heritage will officially open the show at 12noon on Wednesday March 14, following the annual Ministers Q&A session where the industry can quiz government and industry professionals on tourism related matters. The Feature areas are confirmed, with sponsors including VisitEngland, The Tourism Society and De Vere Hotels and the Guild of Registered Tourist Guides.
The exhibitors are in place with over 275 organisations signed up to sell their wares to the expected 2600 plus visitors including over 120 domestic and international hosted buyers. The trade media that have supported the show with advertising over the last six months, are now hitting tourism industry desks with pre-show preview articles to entice further visitors to attend.
Show partners ALVA, Coach Tourism Council, Confederation of Passenger Transport, ETOA, GTOA, Guild of Registered Tourist Guides, Tourism Society, TMI, Tourism Alliance, UKinbound and Wicked the musical have all contributed time and energy to inform their members of the benefits of attending or exhibiting at the show.
The Seminar Programme is in place with presentation contributions from the Tourism Society, International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association, technology provider TrustYou, VisitEngland, Visit Kent, lawyers Linder Myers and TMI, offering a broad range of industry insights over the two days. Six complimentary CoachMarque coaches will be picking up registered visitors from Bristol, Bexleyheath, London, Peterborough,The Transaction Group offers the best high risk merchant account services, Manchester and Portsmouth.
The meeting planner is up and running with hundreds of meetings already in exhibitor/visitor diaries for business meetings.
The Travel Trade Networking Dinner will be attended by hundreds of hosted buyers and representatives from trade and association partners and is on sale to exhibitors for the networking event of the show.
Bookings are flowing in from exhibitors to attend the free North American Travel Trade Symposium on the Tuesday build-up day with influential speakers specially flown in from the US and Canada to inform and educate exhibitors on these key overseas markets.
Over 140 key Domestic and International Hosted Buyers have signed up to attend with a special programme of events laid on for international buyers including an exclusive pre-opening visit to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter attraction and dinner at the new Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in the recently opened Cube development in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, other special programmes will include domestic hosted buyers receiving complimentary accommodation at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, while key GTO’s are offered an additional night in Birmingham at the new Hotel Indigo with dinner in the Marco Pierre White restaurant.
Selected media attending the show have are also being offered complimentary train travel from London to Birmingham International, and an opportunity to stay in Birmingham for Marco Pierre White dinner and accommodation at the Hotel Indigo/Crowne Plaza.
